Just a Bit Twisted - Alessandra Hazard
That was fucking hot. It's erotica so the bullshit-o-meter must be recalibrated, but I liked that the author has not gone out of character with Rutledge... much.
And here's the first DNF for this author. The book's time lag is more than five years and the result is a supremely boring and banal work viewed, read and reread thousands of times during this period. The characters are so cheap that I could buy a couple of dozen of them for a buck, and the (non-existent, repetitive) plot is so exciting that... GTFO.

The plot is trite (and this was to be expected), but I loved the grandpas and Isabella to pieces, they are a hoot.
Bad Boys Need Love Too - Christa Tomlinson
The strangest four-stars rating ever. Imo, this book is like a full course dinner of snack food and ice cream. So, if you can't stand assholish, possessive top; nice little bottom (almost a Mary Sue, if you ask me); crass jokes or dirty talking; and a ton of sex scenes (like 300 pages out of 395), don't bother with it. I liked this book because I was obviously in the mood, but also because, despite it being erotica, the characters deal with their issues in a more credible manner compared to those in pathetic slice of life, stuffed with stupid drama... Yet the eyes rolling moments (at least a couple) and Joseph's perfection spoiled a little the (guilty) pleasure. As I said, strangest rating ever.
The sequels are nothing special.
The Roommate Situation - Zoe X. Rider
I wonder, where the hell did this author take the idea to subject her readers to characters so shitty, flat and, all in all, interesting as a pimple on the ass? What's more, she did this for 250 pages, charging 7$ too.
The absolute nothingness of this book is disarming, especially given the fact that this author has a wicked and original mind that she has completely forgotten to turn on to write this story.

Blood & Thunder - Charlie Cochet
I'm in love with this author's style and sense of humour, seriously, she gets me completely hooked on her words. But, fuck, I hate her final chapters. Two books same reaction...
And just to be fussy, here Dex tends too much to be a Mary Sue, while Sloane is totally bipolar.
It would be decent if the author was a nine year old boy with a dirty mind...or maybe not. Anyway, the idea for the plot is good, but style and execution are absolutely amateurish.
Hell on Earth (Hellscape) - Ally Blue
Very good action and setting. I would have preferred that the romantic part was less fluffy and at the end I would have been less accommodating with Jael & co. I continue to believe that the words used by this author to describe certain sex scenes are strange, bordering on the ridiculous.
P.S. The book's cover has nothing to do with the story.

I don't know the readers of this genre what kind of catharsis search. I only know that these books are not for me. I find that everything is repetitive and merely gratuitous.

Pride and Modern Prejudice - AJ Michaels
No sex scenes. No overwhelming romanticism. A lot of dialogue.
I loved it almost as much as the original.
Lab Rat's Love - Ana J. Phoenix
This book could have been great, but alas, the author has not done her homework.
Here's some issues
-The book starts off on the wrong foot with a big hole in the plot. A wealthy entrepreneur dies and no will is read. Given that Nex agrees with Kane just for a matter of money the hole isn't irrelevant.
-Nobody will care for a chip that can't be disabled nor reprogrammed, except slavers and criminals. So congratulations to the researchers for their foresight and keenness of though.
-The author doesn't have the slightest idea of what it means to be a drug addict and how detox works. Moreover, gambling is addictive, too. What happened to Nex's slotmachines?
Personal opinions
-Kane is a constipated and arid character. He isn't able to make Nex stand out.
-The sex scenes are unimaginative, repetitive and altogether disappointing, considering the premise, Kane's possibility and the initial sexual tension.

Hell & High Water (THIRDS Book 1) - Charlie Cochet
This book is like an action flick that offers a nice plot, fun characters (I love Dex) and an original idea of the shapeshifters' genre (that I have particularly appreciated). It's great until a few chapters from the end, then everyone becomes an incompetent moron and my enthusiasm was considerably dampened.
Think of England - K.J. Charles
It's super-delicious, but the resolution of the case is over the top, to my taste and also too easy. It's still a very enjoyable story.
