In my opinion, the BDSM genre is currently quite stagnant, but Ricochet is a breath of fresh air. Some passages in this book are incredibly original and engaging, others aren't simply hot, but erotic. I'm tempted to give it 5 stars, but there are flaws and ingenuity. In some places the novel drags on, it never comes to be boring, but some cuts would have avoided the empathy turning into "For heaven's sake, Matt, there is a limit to stupidity" (though, I have to admit that he knows how to recapture it, so I forgive him). Also, the parallels between Ben and Matt are too many and they lose a bit of power.The fact remains that five hundred pages are many, but I devoured them as if they were fifty and, damn, if I don't want Karl and Daniel's story right now.
