The main characters are a jock and a physics student, so why does this novel seems a vademecum for the good Christian? It was disconcerting. And then there is the precious drama that is divided in three parts. The first part is the "Jock-meets-nerd" drama, only it was more dull meets ill-mannered due to the missed characterization. The second part is "The relationship" drama. Through about a hundred pages Ellis is desperate for having taken it in the ass the first time he had sex (this being a degrading act). Then Cole understands Ellis' drama and says, "Don't worry, love, I'm the one who will takes it in the ass" and eternal peace was, even with the blessing of the good Christian. The third part is "The homophobia" drama: a young neo-Nazi (non-churchgoers, son of a self-confessed demon atheist) commits a hate crime against the protagonists in the name of the Bible. All very original and logical.
